Bian Stone 砭石: Bian-stone has a long history of application as the material to make acupuncture needles in ancient China. Our recent studies reveal that bian-stone is a structurally compact micromeritic limestone with 96% CaCO3. Its normal far-infrared (FIR) radiation power is as high as 0.923 in the 8–14 μm spectral zone. Chemical analysis shows that there are more than thirty trace elements within the stones such as Sr, Ti, Cr, Mn, Zn, Ca, Fe, P, K, & Na – elements which are beneficial & necessary for healthy human beings.
